What little victories are worth sharing?

Anything! Everything! We can’t wait to see, collectively what everyone has accomplished. Again, even tiny victories can make a big difference in the grand scheme of things.

If you need help brainstorming, here are some ideas for you to consider when reflecting on the year and picking a little victory!

Lightbulb Moments: What is a moment that, reflecting back, makes you smile so big because you know a student “got it”? A lightbulb went off and they suddenly the concept clicked, finally they mastered a tricky problem, or really improved on a score.

Time Saving Hacks: Was there something you tried this year that gave you (as a teacher, coach, principal, or superintendent etc.)reach your goal a bit faster? A time saving hack, perhaps using a new tool, trick, or type of pedagogy that helped you out in a new way? We would love to hear about what lit you up! Teachers, after all, can be students too.

Perseverance Prevails: Did students struggle to apply themselves to a task, or deal with confusion in a particular topic and then suddenly broke through? If so, we want to hear about it! Share with us all about the time when grit or perseverance prevailed. Maybe it’s a time when a struggling student revisited a question after a repeated attempt and then suddenly got it right, or the time your class went from confused to conquered in a particular topic. (Hint: this might make a great blog post!)

Team Wins: Share a time when you put your head together with another teacher, team, or group and how that helped everyone win. Maybe you used student data to collaborate on remediation practices, teaching strategies, or something else. Whatever it was, we want to know all the details!

Empathy Challenges: Relationships matter. Did you help a student through a hard time, or bond with other teachers to support a student or group? Even if it was just one day with one smile, sometimes a little bit of empathy can go a long way. Let us know the time you cheered someone on, or helped encourage a student to persevere on a difficult day or in a difficult moment.

We can’t wait to hear from you for all of your little victories and see what you have to share for #EduVictories. Again, no matter whether it’s a victory big or small, all victories matter in teaching and we are excited to hear what you have to add.
