What is MAAP?

MAAP is an acronym for Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP). This is a statewide test administered to students in Mississippi at various grade levels in different subjects. The tests are administered from elementary school throughout to high school. For instance, Grade 3-5 MAAP ELA Test consists of Session 1 that comprises 40 questions and lasts for 123 minutes. ELA Session 2 has a 100-minute performance test. On the other hand, MAAP Math Test has Session 1 that consists of 40 questions for 137 minutes and an 80-minute Performance Task in Session 2.
For Grade 6-8, MAAP ELA Session 1 consists of 40 questions and lasts for 148 minutes while Session 2 has a performance task that lasts 100 minutes. MAAP Math Test Session 1 lasts 167 minutes and comprises of 40 questions while Session 2 has a 100-minute performance task.

MAAP tests across different grades and subjects have a general question format which consists of the following.
